Depending on age group, our tryouts dates start Friday, September 6 and run through Monday, September 16.

Vaughan Legends home gym is Toronto Waldorf School, located at 9100 Bathurst Street (Bathurst & Rutherford).

The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is happy to announce the release of the 2024 Tryout Window Policy after months of collaboration with our members. While it may not be exactly what each individual wanted, the Policy incorporates ideas from across our broad membership base and our hope is that it will help everyone, regardless of region.

The OVA began this process at the beginning of the year using information gathered through our feedback channels. Surveys from athletes, parents, and club leaders along with insights from the Athlete Council, Regional Council and the Indoor Volleyball Development Council brought a wealth of invaluable information from a variety of perspectives. We believe this policy strikes a balance, considering both club and athlete interests, while also addressing the unique challenges encountered by different regions within the OVA.

The OVA recognizes that our members and clubs each have differing socio-economic and geographical realities that effect how they exist within the Ontario volleyball world.  We had 85 clubs, 1050 unique teams and over 12000 athletes compete in 2023-24 season with over 1600km separating our furthest clubs. In the end, we feel that the Policy is a balance between the interest of our clubs, coaches, athletes and their families. 

This year, the Policy is being released in two different documents. One as a policy for 4v4 and 6v6, and another for TLS to 18U. This is to help fully differentiate the rules between these two groups and help mitigate any confusions of the past.

Online payment (preferred) cash or e-transfer of $20 for single tryout or $40 for all (2-3) age group tryouts is required prior to entry. *Athletes trying out for multiple age groups will be required to pay for each age group. All tryouts are non-refundable.
